Hello, I'm Lindsey - A Creative Engineer

That means I do both UX Design and Software Development

My career has been a journey of many diverse experiences.

A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.

Where I started.

Many moons ago, my career started in what might seem like the most unlikely of places (if you see where I am now) - in medical. In my first career pursuit, I spent almost 5 years working midnight shifts in a hospital while pursuing a Nursing degree.

Eventually I moved on to complete a degree in Computer Science, but it is due to these earlier career days that my interest in humanities and the human psyche began to further my interest into the User Experience of pretty much any product that was consumed.

How it evolved.

While completing my degree - I started my technical career as a Software Developer in the finance sector. My earlier projects consisted of more back-end functionality with Java source code, but upon the completion of my degree I started working with Front-End web applications by building components for AEM. It was here that I started to thrive when creating visual components that end-users could interact with.

Eventually, during my shift through multiple company buyouts, I grew my skills on the different teams I worked with. During my R&D career, I had to carry the entirity of several solo projects on my own with a full-team skillset as one person (research, design, project management, development, testing, and delivery). This rainbow set of skills is something I still believe to be very important to have when working on any team. Later, during my work with my startup/innovation teams, this set of skills allowed me to be diverse in my work. Not only was I able to be a Software Developer, but I was also able to assist the team with any UX Design or Reseach.

Where I am now.

Currently, while I am looking to further continue and grow in my Software Developer and UX Design journey - I also want to continue growing my skillset further in UX Research and Human Centered Design.

Beyond that, I suppose all of these years in Innovation have inspired me to start my own adventure as an entrepreneur in my own fine-arts based business as well as the beginnings of my journey in writing my first book.
